Our children hold the future of society. Their emotional, physical and social wellbeing is important for the development of the nation and for themselves. In order to protect the child’s rights and make sure that they are well provided for, the government makes sure that there are certain rights exclusively made available to them.<\/p>

In the past, our community had treated children unfairly. For instance, children were forced to do unskilled labor at an early age. A girl child was denied education and was forced to marry at an early age. But times now have changed. The government of India is trying to protect these children, making sure that their rights are not being denied in any way possible. Child rights are a subset of Human rights.<\/p>

India is a very diverse and vast country in terms of culture and population. It is the world\u2019s second-most populous country with 1.3 billion people. Out of the total Indian population, 39% of the population comprises of children. Thus it is very important to make sure that these children are not being denied their rights.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

  • Rays of Peace took notice of the abuse and issues of children in its target villages and decided to step in to ensure children enjoyed their childhood irrespective of their caste, color, and social status.<\/li><\/ul>

    \u00a0<\/p>

    • Events are conducted on a regular basis that allows children to participate and exhibit their talents.<\/li><\/ul>

      \u00a0<\/p>

      • Events such as drawings, singing, team games, dance programs, and competitive sports were conducted all through the year to help kids have equal opportunity and an even ground to bring out the best of their talents.<\/li><\/ul>

        \u00a0<\/p>

        • A total of 830 children under the age of 18 participated in these activities this year and 245 parents were part of counseling and empowerment seminars to create awareness on child rights.<\/li><\/ul>

          \u00a0<\/p>

          • On the left are the Child Rights established by the Indian government and we as partners are thrilled to be part of this initiative to help realize the rights of these children for them to have a loving and conducive environment to grow.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
